Elise Rose Sutherland

Animated Fantasy series (2019–present) is an ongoing body of community-centred 3D work created with LGBTQ+ collectives. I design and animate surreal, playful fantasy worlds and characters with/for these communities - built for LED screens, projection and VJ playback and technically integrated.

The stylistic choices are a blend of stark, futuristic technology and soft, dreamy fantasy. This juxtaposition aims to highlight the duality of our experiences - navigating between resistance and escapism - a narrative that is both personal and universally resonant.

These works aim to serve as a testament to the resilience, creativity, and joy found within marginalised communities, especially within the vibrant world of queer nightlife.
